black lives matter protest

On May 31, 2020, over 1,000 students assembled and peacefully marched in a protest from Howard University to the White House for social justice after witnessing the publicized murder of an unarmed black man, George Floyd, by a group of four police officers in Minnesota.

Out of this event and ongoing growth in homicides of black people at the hands of police, a student-run group called Faces Of The Future was formed to demand justice. This student-run movement was birthed by challenging the paradigms in policing and social justice that perpetuates the unlawful treatment of black people in America.

“In the end anti-black, anti-female, and all forms of discrimination are equivalent to the same thing: anti-humanism” ~ Congresswoman Shirley Chisholm
